Super Typhoon Pepito (Man-yi) is expected to again make landfall on Sunday, November 17 — possibly more than once — and cross mainland Luzon

After lashing many areas in Luzon and Visayas, Super Typhoon Pepito will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Ahead of its landfall on Sunday, November 17, tropical cyclone "Pepito" (international name: Man-Yi) maintained its super typhoon category strength as it heads for the vicinity of Aurora where it is likely to make a landfall by midday.

Super Typhoon Pepito made its landfall in Dipaculao, Aurora Sunday afternoon putting three large areas in Northern Luzon under Tropical Cyclone Wind No. 5.

At least 174 families, or 500 people, in this town were evacuated on Sunday, November 17, as Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) unleashed heavy rains and winds, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management office (PDRRMO) said.
