Oh, so close.That has certainly been the theme for this year’s UMass football team. And it was again, one final time on Saturday afternoon at McGuirk Alumni Stadium as the Minutemen fell 47-42 to UConn – which played spoiler to UMass’

The Minutemen fired Don Brown prior to last week’s game against Georgia. After Brown’s dismissal, the Minutemen immediately began a search for a new head coach for the program.

The 2024 football season ends Saturday for UMass. An old Yankee Conference rival will visit Amherst in the 78th renewal of the rivalry between the Minutemen and UConn.
