Veterans Day is Nov. 11, and New York City is celebrating with its annual Veterans Day Parade. Now in its 105th year, the Veterans Day parade honors those serving in all United States military branches.

The National Veterans Day Ceremony, also known as the National Veterans Day Parade, is returning to the District on Sunday, Nov. 10, to honor and remember those who served.

Continuing to be hosted along Main Street, this year’s Veterans Day Parade features key changes. Spectators can gather downtown on Monday morning for Veterans Day. The parade begins at 9 a.m., which is different from the previous parade times of 10 a.m., says VFW Commander Omer Ethier.

Also this weekend, on Sunday, Nov. 3, the Monroe County Veterans Association will be holding its Veterans Day parade. The event will begin at Stroudsburg High School at 1 p.m. with opening comments, followed by the parade at 1:15 p.m., ending at Dansbury Park in East Stroudsburg.

The Thomas Fowler American Legion Post No. 169 held a Veterans Day Parade in downtown Wichita Falls on Saturday, drawing hundreds. Members of the parade met at 9:30 a.m. near Third Street between Ohio and Indiana to decorate; then the parade began shortly after at 11 a.m.

The city of Arnold will hold it Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 8 with the procession starting at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and ending on the Fox C-6 School District schools campus, and a luncheon for veterans will be held at the recently completed addition at Fox High School that leads to the Leo C.

Aurora will honor Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11, with a parade and a ceremony featuring a keynote speech from former prisoner of war Jessica Lynch.

The Pocatello Veterans Day Parade is set to return to the Gate City for the third consecutive year on Saturday.
