Tim Smith left Alabama football feeling NFL ready. The Crimson Tide defensive line, a late addition to the 2025 Senior Bowl roster, said each season in Tuscaloosa allowed him to learn more and more, culminating in a 2024 season where he said he “was able to figure it out" and record a career high 35 tackles with four tackles-for-loss and two sacks.
No one, including HC Kalen DeBoer, was happy with how the 2024 season went for the Alabama Crimson Tide. But many in the fanbase were already about to jump ship following just one season under his guidance.
One of the quarterbacks already in place at Alabama is Ty Simpson. The backup last season, Simpson now looks ready to compete for the starting job this offseason. While at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, DeBoer shared some of his thoughts on Simpson, commending him for his dedication to the program.
Zahir Mathis is another big target that is still out there in the 2025 class. Mathis is another player that was originally committed elsewhere as he was an Ohio State pledge, but he decided to reopen his recruitment back in November. Now, Alabama is in the mix, but they have some stiff competition as Mathis is considering some other elite programs.

A second-team All-SEC left tackle who transferred to the Crimson Tide in 2022 for his final season of eligibility, Steen has played four of five offensive line spots for the Eagles. Per Pro Football Focus, he played 386 snaps in 2024, and made a start for the Eagles at left guard in the NFC championship against the Commanders.
