Edmonton Oilers goaltender is now the father of two boys after he and his Chloe welcomed their second child earlier this week.

The Edmonton Oilers took to the ice for practice today without Stuart Skinner, and now broadcaster Jack Michaels has confirmed the reason why - Skinner is with his wife, expecting the birth of their child.

The Edmonton Oilers dealt with an EBUG situation as Stuart Skinner wasn’t in the goal for the team on Monday night against the Seattle Kraken. He wasn’t backing up Calvin Pickard, either.

It's clear where he was coming from: Buffalo outshot Edmonton 41-32, peppering Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner with 36 shots in the final 40 minutes. The Oilers were lucky to come away with a win against the last-place team in the Eastern Conference.

The Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres squared off for a little matinee action at Rogers Place on Saturday afternoon, and even though it wasn’t the prettiest effort we’ve ever seen, the boys still managed to grind out a 3-2 win.

Because a backup doesn't play every game they don't need to be game-breakers. They just need to come in and give their team the best chance to win. Luckily for the Oilers, Pickard has delivered that in spades. Despite the odd bad goal allowed, the Oilers have a really good goalie situation.
