Saira Banu's lawyer, Vandana Shah revealed if her client will legally get 50 percent of AR Rahman's massive wealth after the duo's split as per Indian law.

AR Rahman, the Oscar-winning musician known for his work on Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, and his wife Saira Banu announced Nov. 19 they are breaking up and divorcing after nearly three decades.

Recently, Saira Banu came forward to defend her husband and Oscar-winning singer, AR Rahman as his name is being tarnished online. She released a voice note to rubbish the false rumours.

AR Rahman's wife has issued a statement about her husband after the announcement of divorce. In this, she has requested people not to tarnish his image.

Soon after the news of their divorce broke, the musician opened up on how "shattering" it is to bear the "weight of broken hearts"

Saira Banu also requested people to refrain from tarnishing Rahman’s name and added that he is a “gem of a person, the best man in the world”

Vandana Shah, a well-known divorce lawyer handling AR Rahman and Saira Banu's case, noted that decisions like this are never easy, especially after being married for 29 years, though she didn’t go into specific details.

A day after Rahman issued a stark warning against the people posting defamatory content against them, Banu released a statement addressing the false rumours circulating online and tarnishing Rahman and her family's image.

In a voice note shared by her lawyer Vandana Shah, Saira, where she interestingly referred to herself as "Saira Rahman" and shared that she trusts AR Rahman.
