Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has proposed a nearly $6.5 billion budget that sends half of its spending increase toward school vouchers.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Thursday proposed a $182.5 million increase in the state's general revenue budget to $6.49 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, with much of the increase going toward the state's school voucher program and governor's pay-plan for state employees.

Gov. Sanders presented her balanced budget plans to legislators, emphasizing education, maternal health, public safety and government efficiency as key components.
