The Wings dropped to last in the NHL on the penalty kill (66.2%) after allowing three power-play goals in Friday's loss to New Jersey.

The numbers are ugly. The Red Wings are last in the league on the penalty kill (66.2 percent), allowing nearly one power-play goal per game (22 in 23 games). They worked on it at the start of practice Saturday while preparing to host Vancouver on Sunday (12:30 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).

Hamilton beat Talbot from the high slot on the power play at 16:05 to make it 2-1. The Red Wings used a coach's challenge for goaltender interference on Stefan Noesen, but the call on the ice was upheld after video review, and Detroit receivd a two-minute penalty for delay of game.

It was a fun atmosphere on a holiday weekday afternoon and an entertaining game, but the Red Wings gladly would have exchanged the result.
