For the Dallas Cowboys, though, and owner Jerry Jones: Doesn’t sound like tanking is an option. In his weekly radio appearance on The Fan (KRLD-FM 105.3), Jones made it perfectly clear: his team is not tanking. At least on purpose, anyway.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been part of a roller coaster season that has featured more downs than ups through 12 weeks. With his team sitting at 4-7 in the final season of his five-year contract, the assumption has been that the team will move on from his services in the offseason.

But team owner Jerry Jones apparently is feeling pretty, pretty good about the Cowboys' road upset victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. In fact, Jones did not rule out a potential contract extension for his embattled head coach in his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.
