The head of the Louvre Museum has resigned after months of scandals, including the theft of US$100 million in French crown jewels, as French President Emmanuel Macron accepted her departure.

Des Cars's departure follows a $102 million jewel heist, ticket fraud scheme, multiple leaks, and ongoing staff strikes.
