Ninja Gaiden 4 was revealed by Team Ninja and PlatinumGames at Xbox Developer Direct in January 2025, and a remake of Ninja Gaiden 2 has been released today.

This is the first new 2D entry since the (questionable) Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on SNES in 1995, and the first new series entry of any type since the (equally questionable) Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z in 2014.
