An American Airlines regional jet went down in the Potomac River near Washington, D.C.'s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after colliding with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter on Wednesday night, with no survivors expected.

Trump criticized the Federal Aviation Administration’s diversity push after the jet collided with a helicopter in D.C., as authorities continued a recovery operation.

Rescue craft are in the Potomac River below the site of the collision with D.C. fire chief John Donnelly saying "we don't know" if there are any survivors.
