International lawyers for the Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed Apple's decision to stop sourcing minerals from there due to worsening conflict, but said they would press ahead with their cases against the company in Europe.

Apple “could not have been unaware” that its supply chain was contaminated with “blood minerals,” a lawyer representing the Democratic Republic of Congo said Tuesday.

The allegations by Congo have been confirmed by UN experts and human rights organizations. In response to these claims, Apple has said that it doesn't directly source primary minerals. The company also claims to conduct audits on suppliers, disclose findings publicly, and support organizations working toward improving mineral traceability.
