A GameStop damaged Nintendo Switch 2 displays after stapling receipts to the boxes, but buyers will receive replacements.

Some people reported an unwelcome surprise after picking up their Nintendo Switch 2 preorders at GameStop: staples used to attach receipts to Switch 2 boxes ended up damaging the screens on the console, as reported by IGN. However, GameStop says this was an issue that was “isolated” to a single store and that it has already offered replacements.

The release of the Nintendo Switch 2 saw a hiccup, at least in New York, as some GameStop customers reported purchasing damaged devices.

Some people are reporting that GameStop may have damaged their Nintendo Switch 2 units, which were pre-ordered at the video game retailer.

GameStop employees have stapled receipts to the outside of the Nintendo Switch 2 box and have punctured the screen, check your Switch 2 for any damage.
