King Charles and Queen Camilla have plans to expand their family at Buckingham Palace. As the British monarch made a solo appearance on Friday, Nov. 22 at this year’s Royal Variety Performance amidst his wife’s lingering health issues, he casually mentioned that he and Camilla are planning on getting a new dog, per Express.co.uk.

The King stepped out for a star-studded soiree at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Friday night. The monarch was due to appear alongside Queen Camilla, however, the 77-year-old withdrew at the last minute as she continues to recover from an earlier chest infection.

The Queen, 77, has reluctantly pulled out of the Royal Variety Performance on Nov. 22, which she was due to attend alongside her husband King Charles, 76. The announcement from Buckingham Palace came about four hours before she was scheduled to head out to Royal Albert Hall in London.
