At least 13 people have died and two others are in critical condition after a collision between a passenger ferry and a navy speedboat near to a popular tourist destination in Mumbai, India, according to a local official.

The Navy and Coast Guard launched a massive rescue operation in Mumbai in the wake of the mishap. An ex-gratia of rupees five lakh has been announced by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis for each of the families of those who died in the accident.
