Firstly, just last week, Android Authority reported that the Pixel Tablet 2 was in the works, boasting upgrades like a better camera, a more powerful processor, and compatibility with a keyboard cover — all significant changes over the original Pixel Tablet.

If this had arrived day and date with the original model, it would've been far easier to recommend the Pixel Tablet among its fellow mid-range tablets, like Samsung's $450 Galaxy Tab S9 FE from October of 2023, and, of course, the aforementioned iPad.

To conclude, this series of failures has forced Google to halt its Pixel tablet series. However, Google’s potential exit from the tablet category might only be temporary. Some reports suggest that Google is planning to migrate ChromeOS to Android, which could create a unified operating system where Google could focus all its development resources.
