A storm is brewing for Thanksgiving that could bring rain and even snow to parts of New York. Rain is expected to shower the city overnight starting around 3 a.m. and continuing through Thursday morning,

Two separate storm systems carrying heavy rain are expected to impact the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel in New York City, and the second one could even bring some snow to parts of the Tri-State area.

Thursday will be a First Alert Weather Day as steady rain, wind and cooler temperatures arrive. Places north and west of New York City may also see some snow . Holiday travelers will catch a break Wednesday, but unfortunately they will have to navigate some wet weather on Thanksgiving.

New Jersey will be wet and rainy, but the state will be spared the impacts of a major winter storm affecting the midwestern United States. Travelers should pack an umbrella and if they’re driving, change the wiper blades after weather forecasters predicting a mild and rainy-day for much of Thursday.

The show must go on and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will go on rain or shine, Macy’s tells NBC New York. The parade is scheduled for Thursday in New York City and unfortunately, the forecast looks rainy.
