The chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors on Friday sent a request to California Attorney General Rob Bonta for his office to join Cal Fire in taking the lead on the investigation into the deadly Esparto fireworks explosion.

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors wrote a letter Friday afternoon to state Attorney General Rob Bonta, asking for his office’s lead in the criminal investigation of the July 1 explosion at a fireworks facility in Esparto that left seven dead.
