Amazon Web Services (AWS) and UAE-based telco e& have signed a $1 billion cloud agreement in the Middle East. The two companies will combine AWS' cloud infrastructure and solutions with e& networking capabilities.

This collaboration comes as Middle Eastern businesses increasingly shift to cloud-based operations, with public cloud adoption expected to unlock $733bn in economic value by 2033

A core part of the collaboration is a $1 billion-plus agreement over six years focused on accelerating cloud-driven innovation and digital transformation. Through this partnership, AWS and e& will deliver essential cloud services, including storage, computing, networking, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

The agreement will further modernise platforms such as Starzplay Arabia and Careem, the Middle East ‘everything app’
