Unless you find an old model AVR with a lot of component inputs, a simple component switch is probably best. Smaller than an AVR, less power, less expense, less complexity and no conversion issues.

If you find a passive component to VGA cable, they only work with projectors that can accept a component signal into their VGA input. Tiny projectors don't have much room for 3 large RCA jacks.
