The judicial custody of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been extended until September 30 in connection with the shocking Renuka Swamy murder case, raising concerns about prison conditions and the treatment of the accused.

To note, Darshan has been accused of murdering Renukaswami. Renukaswamy was a fan of Darshan Thoogudeepa. She was allegedly upset with the fact that Darshan and Pavitra Gowda had some relationship despite him being married. According to the reports, Darshan along with the help of his companions tortured and killed Renukswamy.

BENGALURU: The 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court in Bengaluru on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of jailed Kannada actor Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others until 30.

Kannada actor Darshan, involved in the Renukaswamy murder case, has been moved to Ballari Central Prison with a new undertrial prisoner number, 511. The transfer was conducted secretly to avoid media attention.

The jailer of the Ballari Prison has warned the Kannada actor Darshan not to create any fuss over facilities provided to him inside the prison.

Bengaluru: A court here on Tuesday extended till September 30 the judicial custody of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and others, who are accused in the Renukaswamy murder case.

Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested with Pavithra Gowda and others after Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga, was murdered allegedly for posting lewd Instagram comments on Gowda.
