Vermeil’s greatest passion remains football and, despite stops in St. Louis where he coached the Rams to a Super Bowl title, and Kansas City, where he led the Chiefs to a 13-win season, it is the Eagles who he follows the most closely from his home in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

The 28-year-old was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Green Bay Packers and had 12 interceptions in seven seasons during his tenure there. But he’s dealt with injuries throughout his career, including a torn PCL last year that led to knee surgery in January.
