A man from Hoover, Alabama, was arrested Monday for allegedly attempting to kill his wife and six adult children. Mohammad A.H. Mohammad,63, was taken into custody by the FBI with the help of the local police department.

According to court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the father of six offered the agent — whom he believed to be a hitman — $20,000 to kill his wife and $5,000 for each adult child, ages 21 to 34.

Mohammad A. H. Mohammad’s wife and children had filed protective orders against him years before he allegedly tried to have them killed.

Mohammed allegedly offered to pay the undercover agent $20,000 for the murder of his wife, and an additional $5,000 each for his six children. According to court records, Mohammed also showed the hitman images of cars belonging to his family that he had set on fire.

Melody Sasser, 48, searched the dark web hoping to order the murder of a woman she viewed as her romantic rival, authorities said.
