South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said it remains unclear if trade talks between Seoul and Washington can result in a deal before next week’s deadline to avert sweeping tariffs from President Donald Trump.

The president expressed hope to promote dialogue with the Japanese side through repeated mutual visits in order to reduce misunderstandings and facilitate cooperation.
