Wet weather and cool temperatures are expected for much of New Jersey for Thanksgiving this year. According to the National Weather Service, the rain that has settled over the metropolitan region is expected to linger until late Thursday afternoon before moving out from west to east around 5 p.m.

Thousands of New Jersey residents are without power on Thanksgiving day, a Jersey Central Power and Light spokesperson confirmed in an email. Over 7,000 customers do not have power, officials confirmed to PIX11 News.

In New Jersey, low pressure will dominate the region on Thanksgiving, with a 100% chance of precipitation, forecasts the National Weather Service Mount Holly office. Between a quarter and half of an inch of rain is expected on Thanksgiving. A high pressure will return Friday, keeping skies clear for the weekend.
