Look to the east after sunset on a clear winter night and you’ll spot a bright, tightly packed collection of stars. That’s the Pleiades, a star cluster 445 light-years from Earth that has inspired both myth and measurement for centuries.
Cedar Point captured the phenomena known as aurora borealis on two timelapse videos, which they shared on social media -- and the footage is simply incredible. The first was video, which was posted after Tuesday night’s northern lights, features a wide view of the Cedar Point skyline.
Customers send their telescopes to Starfront Observatories, where amateur stargazers can view the night sky unencumbered by artificial light.
