Betts and Shohei Ohtani both drove in runs in the second inning, and in the third inning, Will Smith launched a 432-foot homer, the longest blast from any hitter in the postseason. The Dodgers tacked on runs in the later innings, including two on a Gavin Lux home run.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres play in Game 5 of the NLDS at Dodger Stadium, at 8:08 p.m. ET on Friday. The victor clinches the series and moves on to the NLCS. The Padres have named Yu Darvish (7-3, 3.31 ERA) as their starter for this game. The Dodgers' starter has not yet been announced.
