COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football capped an undefeated regular season with an impressive feat Sunday. The Buckeyes checked in at No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25. Ohio State has now held that position every week since its season-opening win against Texas.
The Wolverines managed just 163 total yards of offense in Saturday's rivalry game, by far the fewest they had gained in a game this season.
The Buckeyes are favored by 5.5 points against the Hoosiers, according to DraftKings. However, ESPN’s College Football Power Index gives IU a 50.6% chance to win. Ohio State (12-0) opened its season as a 1.5-point favorite against Texas. Since then, the Buckeyes have been favored by at least two scores in every game.
Even the Texas victory lost some of its luster as the Longhorns never lived up to their preseason ranking en route to a 9-3 campaign that included an embarrassing loss to a Florida team that finished 4-8. Against that backdrop, Ohio State was still cloaked in a certain level of mystery entering the regular season's final week.
