An Oahu Circuit Court jury found Eric Thompson guilty of second-degree murder today in his second trial for the 2022 killing of his wife’s ex-lover.

Thompson’s first trial in 2023 ended in a mistrial when the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. This time around, the jury found Thompson guilty of murder in the second degree. He was also found guilty of a firearm charge. Shortly after the verdict was read, the state’s motion to revoke bail was granted and Thompson was taken into custody.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- Eric Thompson was found guilty for murdering his wife's former lover Jon Tokuhara in 2022. Thompson was accused of shooting the acupuncturist Tokuhara to death at his Waipahu clinic in January 2022.
