Aug 7, 2003 · The box is heavy as is the mounting bracket (you NEED the KTM bracket). When I say heavy, it's plastic, but heavy-duty. Will probably come out on top in the event of a crash. The mount is easy, just un-bolt the existing, stock, rear plate/rack. The kit gives you longer bolts - drop them in an torque them down. Done deal.

Aug 19, 2014 · I'm considering getting a medium sized top box for my 390. I initially got the oxford first time tail pack; but returned it because it was too wide, made the bike look awkward and it didn't seem very secure. Hence a top box... The main concern is mounting the top box.

Jul 5, 2009 · I have the Gobi panniers and top box on my 990 adventure R, and also use the side panniers on my 990 SMT but am struggling to find a top rack solution that will enable me to mount the Gobi top box on the SMT and it looks as though you have that solution.
