I just want to be sure about temperament with my kids, don’t want to ruin the current dynamic we have. If we did get one we’d raise from 1 day old & I wouldn’t keep if it turned out in the least bit rude or aggressive.

With the Light Brahams both are colored the same and you have to wait on the comb to develop on the rooster or the rooster feathers. I suggest you try getting some Brown Leghorn hens. They are a light brown color, so they can hide better from predators. They can also fly into trees to get away from predators.

Apr 25, 2011 · Can't really tell from your pic. But I really don't think that he is crossed with barred rock. I don't claim to be a genetics expert. A barred rock male over light brahma female would give both barred males and females. If you reverse the cross you should get all barred males. Your bird is not barred, I think he is probably a hatchery light brahma.

Apr 23, 2010 · I have 7 Light Brahmas. They are 22 weeks old. Their combs are only now starting to turn red. I have been tired of waiting for eggs so I went on line and looked up what their laying timetable is and they are one of the latest layers, some laying as late as 25 to 28 weeks.

Jun 22, 2014 · A RIR rooster over a Light Brahma hen will produce a Red Sex Link. Males will show yellow and females will show red. Black has nothing to do with a Red Sex Link as far as determining sex. That red can be different shades of red too. Some crosses will give you a dark brown but some give you a fairly light reddish color, sort of a buff.

Jun 30, 2009 · Hello All' I had 2 batches last year and the second gave me the most beautiful pullett SL Wyandotte x Light Brahma: She is white with white fluffy legs and just a bit of black in her tail and a bit of the black barring around her neck, the other 2 were: 1 full brahma and one Black Australorp X Light brahma mix - She is all black with black fluffy legs and beautiful as well.
