Primula elatior 'Gold Lace' is a semi-evergreen to evergreen perennial with rosettes of oval green leaves sometimes tinged with red. It grows up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. The spring flowers have a golden center and gold-rimmed deep mahogany petals.

‘Gold Lace’ displays clusters of flowers with almost black petals rimmed with soft yellow surrounding a yellow throat. Grows to 6″ tall and produces many offsets. Does best in an evenly moist but well drained soil.

Mar 3, 2014 · One of my favourite springtime plants, the Florist’s Polyanthus (primrose) Gold Lace Group – beautifully formed, deeply coloured & scalloped petals edged in gold, tall stems and silver buds lifted clear from a collar of ruffled green leaves.

This very old primula has lovely dark burgundy flowers with each petal surrounded with gold-lacing. Introduced around 1750 and was much prized by the Victorians. Can be planted in the ground but also works very well in containers.
