Fort Meigs Winter Quarter: The outdoor fort is seasonally closed from November 4, 2024 – April 1, 2025. The indoor visitor center, museum, and gift shop are open year round! Fort Meigs was a United States fortification along the Maumee River in what is now Perrysburg, Ohio during the War of 1812. The British Army, supported by Tecumseh's Confederacy, failed to capture the fort during the siege of Fort Meigs.

The British fort, several miles away on River Road, played a role in the Battle of Fallen Timbers and, later, the War of 1812. The park is open, and much of the earthworks used to create the fort are still visible.

VISIT FORT MEIGS. From April through October, visitors can take self-guided tours of the fort and museum. Historical interpreters, dressed in period clothing, are on hand to provide weapons demonstrations, discuss the history of the fort, and answer any questions. The Fallen Timbers State Monument is a 9-acre site approximately 0.25 mile south of the battlefield. Listed as a National Historic Landmark, the monument is owned by the Ohio Historical Society and is managed by Metroparks Toledo through an agreement. Monuments to the battle include the following:

Fort Miami (Miamis) was a British fort built in spring 1794 on the Maumee River in what was at the time territory claimed by the United States, and designated by the federal government as the Northwest Territory. The fort was located at the eastern edge of present-day Maumee, Ohio, southwest of Toledo.

At Fort Meigs in Perrysburg, a reconstructed fort and museum bring our history as a critical centerpiece of the War of 1812 to life for visitors of all ages. Just down the street stands a statue celebrating the city’s namesake, Commodore Perry.

The outdoor fort is closed for the season. The museum and visitor center are open year round.
