Apr 25, 2022 · Wegmans is by far better than any grocery store here on the Island, albeit I don't mind ShopRite. Given its affluence of the Island, our grocery store selections are dismal. I believe unions have been a roadblock for Wegmans here. I'm guessing this will be in the old Fairway across from SmithHaven Mall.

Oct 16, 2013 · In Western Nassau I noticed some of the Pathmarks went out of business. I'm happy Fairway continues to expand, it'll be nice to have one in Lake Grove. Hopefully you'll get one in South Shore Suffolk soon. I would love to see Wegmans come to Long Island it's really a fantastic store *sigh* but maybe someday! I've never been to Stu Leonards though.

Oct 15, 2013 · Has anybody heard any news about either a Wegmans or a Stu Leonards supermarket coming to LI.. We sure need either one/or both would be GREAT.. I've heard Wegmans is awesome and prices are great. and Stu Leonards . is an 'experience one needs to check out.. Heard such great things about them both.

May 2, 2022 · We have Wegman's here. I predict Long Islanders will not be impressed with the prepared foods. It's a grocery store but if you're from upstate NY or PA it is a way of life.

Feb 15, 2025 · Agree, TJ is primarily a snack shack along with a big selection of packaged, prepared food items. Yes, good quality stuff, but TJ's for me is not a basic go-to grocery store.
