Italian and Czech military surplus wool blankets
Jul 1, 2010 · Material. 100% wool. Reasonable to touch, with long wool fibers. The weave is not readily visible, the stripes appear to be dyed on after the blanket was made, blanket-stitched edges look like cut felt. When compared to the Italian blanket, this wool feels less dry, suggesting that more lanolin is left in it.

They are about the same weight as the Italian surplus, but the wool in the HBC/Whitney is a finer wool, so they are much softer and have more loft. When folded the same way, the HBC/Whitney is a good 1/3 again as thick as the Italian surplus and twice the thickness of a US surplus.

Feb 26, 2019 · Even so, the combination looks and feels the same as 100% pure woolen blankets. They even have the same insulating properties as pure wool. My Dad had a 100% Hudson Bay Company four-point wool blanket that was close to 80 years old when he got it. It was close to 1/4" thick even as old as it was. it was a great camp blanket.

Jul 27, 2015 · I have 3 Yugoslavian military surplus wool blankets up for trade. As far as I have found, these are 100% wool.I measured one and it was approximately 50X81. I didn't measure the other two. The value on these is about $25 apiece on the current market. Shipping is a killer on these. They are bulky. The last one that I shipped ran about $20.

I have a 90% wool EKTOS blanket that has served me well, but honestly have nothing to compare it with as of yet. I do intend to get another that's 100% eventually, so there's that.

Nov 21, 2012 · The blanket has a slight odor, not bad. It is 77" X 58" x 1/4" thick I did not weigh it but it feels every bit of 5 lbs. Their is a tag on it but it is to faded to read.
