The Five Nights at Freddy's lore starts in 1983 with William Afton and Henry Emily opening Fredbear's Family Diner and creating the animatronics Fredbear and Spring Bonnie. Afton's youngest son, the Crying Child, has a phobia of the animatronics and is pranked by his older brother Michael at his birthday party at the diner.
