The mosquito lagoon is a bustling place in the morning hours. A hermit crab crawls along in the brackish waters of the lagoon, to a shelter among the black mangroves. While the fiddler crabs gather on shore to eat. Then off in the distance there are manatee frolicking in the warm waters. As you can see the lagoon is home to a number of different species. It is a vital estuary and located right here in Canaveral National Seashore. In fact, it is one of the most diverse estuaries in North America.
