In 2015, 16-year-old Riley Hein was killed on the way to band practice when his car collided with an 18-wheeler and became wedged underneath the truck. His death was preventable. I’m fighting to pass my bill requiring underride guards on the sides of commercial trucks – which help prevent cars from sliding beneath a truck during a collision.
