Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Plane Crash Near Causeway On December 22, 2025, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a plane crash near the base of the causeway. Sheriff’s Office personnel, including the Dive Team, Crime Scene Unit, Drone Unit, and Patrol Division, were deployed and are assisting at the scene.
